Hedrahelix, formed in late February 2007 when Jim (guitars) and Calvin (drums) who, having been in previous bands together over the years (and were fed up with artistic differences and directions with their respective current bands) decided to create a new musical venture.

It was clear that this would need a completely new batch of players so the quest for a new bass player and vocalist was on.Steve was auditioned and appointed immediately on bass, simply for the style, sound and presence he added to the new line-up, less so though for his sense of humour!

Next was needed a vocalist with a good set of pipes, Steve knew of a local singer, Glen was auditioned and it was clear from that point that the line-up was now complete.....and so it began, the quest for a name.

Then the first gig came, but still we had no name. The landlady of the local watering hole we were due to play decided on our name, if anything just so she had something to put on the chalk board out the front ! She arrived at HederaHelix, the Latin for common green Ivy, but we, to be awkward changed the spelling.

Hedrahelix was born and lives on, evolving from a plain old covers band, to a rock original's band with lots of new tunes in the pipeline being developed week by week and gig by gig.
